Becoming Aware:
Alaska's Impact on Global Warming
Resurrection Bay, Kenai Fjords National Park and Prince William Sound are truly magical places. Abundant wildlife, dynamic scenery and magnificent glaciers await visitors at every bend. Humpbacks, Orcas and Gray whales frequently troll our waters for krill and plankton, regal Stellar sea lions can be found basking in the long summer hours, and hundreds of thousands of pelagic birds nest on the cliffs, their cacophony of sound filling the air. Mountains project skyward thousands of feet while glaciers calve tons of ice thundering into aquamarine waters.
While Alaska coastal ecosystems are bold and dynamic, they are also fragile. They rely on a delicate balance. Sea currents, ocean temperatures, weather and migration patterns are just a few of the vital components of an active system. Even a minor change in one of these can have disastrous consequences, affecting millions of plants and animals.
As visitors to these majestic places, Major Marine Tours is committed to the preservation of the Alaska’s grandeur. As stewards, we are responsible to provide not only the best possible experience for our guests, but also for our wilderness. Please join us as we strive to create a cleaner Earth that we can all live in, and take new meaning from the Alaska State Motto: “North to the Future.”
